7.42pm: The two teams walk out onto the pitch for kick off. The visitors have made a late change and will now be wearing all black for the match.
7.46pm: Adam Johnson and Patrick Vieira get the game started, with the visitors kicking against their support this half.
2 mins: Fuller forces Toure into kicking the the ball high into the Seddon Stand to relieve the pressure. Rory Delap hurls in a long throw - Huth connects but his header goes over the crossbar.
4 mins: Sidibe goes close to breaking the deadlock from close range with Given making the vital save. Lawrence's free kick from the right flank was flicked by Delap to the big Malian but he couldn't get the ball beyond the keeper.
7 mins: Another long throw and this time Shawcross gets his boot onto it but its blocked by a defender. The Potters have started strongly and are not giving the visitors a moment to settle.
10 mins: Whelan volleys just over after Man City fail to properly clear another long throw.
12 mins: Fuller fouled by Lescott on the right flank and there's another free kick to the Potters. Lawrence whips it in but this time they get it clear.
12 mins: Man City spring a counter attack with Adebayor. He plays it to his right for Santa Cruz, who's shot is then well blocked by Whelan.
13 mins: The home crowd are well up for it tonight and are getting behind the lads for every pass, shot and tackle.
19mins: Mancini goes mad at the referee following Fuller's tackle on Lescott on the touchline by him. He clearly won the ball but the Italian isn't happy.
20 mins: The Potters, backed again by the vociferous crowd, force another corner. Abdoulaye Faye rises to meet Lawrence's ball in but its blocked enroute to goal by Lescott.
26 mins Barry skews a shot wide of the far post after Richards' cross from the right had made it to him thanks to a deflection.
35 mins: Another Delap throw causes danger. This time it's flicked on at the near post by Robert Huth and drops just the wrong side of the back stick. If only somebody was there to poke it home!
37 mins: Adebayor wins a soft free kick 25 yards out from goal and Santa Cruz puts Gareth Barry's ball into the box a couple of yards wide of the post.
43 mins: Vieira jumps into Sidibe late and Stoke are awarded a free kicv. The ball ricochets around the box but a shot eventually goes wide.
45 mins: Two minutes added time says the fourth official.
46 mins: Ricardo Fuller does excellently to keep the ball and take on six opposing players but Lawrence's ball back to him cannot make its way back to him.
HALF-TIME. STOKE CITY 0 MANCHESTER CITY 0.

47 mins: De Jong booked for a late challenge by the halfway line.
50 mins: Whelan shown a yellow card for a late tackle on Vieira.
52 mins - RED CARD: Abdoulaye Faye is sent off after Alan Wiley adjudges him to have brought down Adebayor. The pair were running at Stoke's goal and Faye won the ball from the striker but after consultation with his linesman, the referee says its a foul. As he was the last man, he's got no choice but to send him off. A questionable decision.
55 mins: Play finally resumes and Garrido hits his free kick straight into the wall.
56 mins: The Britannia Stadium is filled with loud boos and jeers every time the visitors are in possession. The City faithful feel aggrieved at the decision and are also trying their best to get behind the ten men.
60 mins: Tony Pulis replaces Liam Lawrence with Salif Diao in a defensive reshuffle. Sidibe will play right with Diao in the middle with Whelan. Whitehead will cover at right back.
60 mins: Shaun Wright-Phillips comes on for Javier Garrido.

65 mins: Adebayor powers a shot just wide of the post after Collins' block had fell right to him.
66 mins: Penalty claims waved away as Fuller goes down in the area following pressure from Gareth Barry. Fuller ran onto Sidibe's flick on before being manhandled in the box. Play on says the referee.
69 mins: Richards goes down in the other area in search of a penalty but Huth had won the ball clearly. No booking for diving either.
70 mins: This time Barry is penalised for a foul on Fuller - the Jamaican was poorly tackled on the right touchline.
72 mins - GOAL: Stoke go ahead through Glenn Whelan! A poor clearance from Johnson goes straight to the Irishman and he shoots past his compatriot Shay Given to break the deadlock! The keeper could have possibly done better but who cares?
74 mins: The atmosphere is electric as the ten men continue to do battle. Fuller has Lescott flagging down the flank and Stoke win another throw.
79 mins: Fuller booked for a foul on Toure.
80 mins: James Beattie comes on for Fuller.
81 mins: Richards is replaced by Pablo Zabaleta at right back for the visitors.

85 mins - GOAL: Barry draws the scores level. He volleys Adebayor's flick on onto the post and is then the first to react to knock home the rebound.
86 mins: Mancini replaces Johnson with Petrov.
90 mins: The fourth official indicates a minimum of five minutes time allowed. How long will that feel like?
92 mins: Salif Diao booked for a late challenge on Wright-Phillips.
94 mins: Sidibe wins a free kick to help relieve the pressure and then Delap wins a throw in.
95 mins: The Potters have the ball in the back of the net but its for some reason disallowed by Alan Wiley. Shawcross rose to meet Delap's long throw and head home but its not given. He beat Given fair and square to the ball, there's no way that is a foul. What a controversial end to the game, the referee has certainly been in the spotlight for his decisions this evening.
