3.56pm: The two teams come out onto the pitch here at Stamford Bridge. It's pretty much a full house here today, with the sun shining as well. There's a chill in the air though.
3.58pm: The teams shake hands and then Chelsea get together for a group huddle.
3.59pm: The Stokies are in great voice this afternoon with a great 'Delilah' being belted out in the away end to our left.
4.00pm: Robert Huth, captain for the day against his old club, shakes hands with John Terry in the centre circle ahead of the toss.
4.01pm: Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba get the game underway.
2 mins: An early corner for the hosts but Malouda's ball in comes to nothing.
3 mins: Lampard's corner is cleared and then Malouda skews a shot wide as the Blues start brightly.
5 mins: Rory Delap's first long throw of the afternoon causes danger in the box. Huth flicks the ball on and Sidibe rises unmarked but cannot keep his header down. It was a difficult chance though to be fair.
8 mins: Anelka cuts in from the right hand side and fires a low left footed shot at goal but Sorensen gets down well to save.
9 mins: Fuller's cross shot towards the back post is put behind for a corner with Sidibe waiting to pounce.
15 mins: The Potters are pushing for an opener with a good spell in the final third of the pitch. A Delap throw is only punched as far as Whitehead by Hilario and the midfielder volleys a left footed effort at goal. It looks as though it's going in but Alex gets a block in on the line.
23 mins: Ferreira drags a poor shot wide of Sorensen's right hand post after a quiet period of play. Not quiet in the stands though as the travelling 3,000 Stoke fans continue to make themselves heard.
27 mins: Ivanovic's long range strike is deflected over the crossbar for a corner after the Potters originally thwart a move from the left hand side.
28 mins: Sidibe is adjudged to be offside as Whitehead feeds a ball through the defence for him.
29 mins: Lampard's shot is blocked well by Faye before Anelka drills the ball wide of the post after he dispossesses Whitehead in the area.
31 mins: Drogba gets frustrated and lashes a shot wide of the post.
32 mins: Tuncay races through down the left hand side but takes a heavy touch and Alex gets back to put in a slide tackle.
33 mins: Ambitious claims for a home penalty waved away as Malouda goes down under pressure from Abdoulaye Faye. Correct decision.
34 mins: Drogba's dangerous volley is deflected over the bar for a second consecutive corner.
35 mins - GOAL: Chelsea go ahead through Frank Lampard. City fail to clear the corner and the ball is laid off for him on the edge of the area with the England international drilling the ball home.
38 mins: The Potters look for an equaliser and have a long throw followed by a corner. Referee Martin Atkinson awards a foul in Chelsea's favour though.
42 mins: Following a couple of minutes of stoppages due to an injury to Kalou, Lampard fires a low shot at goal. It takes a deflection on the way through but Sorensen gathers well.
42 mins: Free kick to Stoke 20 yards out from goal in the centre of the pitch. Tuncay steps up but blazes it over the bar.
45 mins: Danny Pugh comes on for Glenn Whelan, who has been limping for the last couple of minutes.
45 mins: A minimum of three minutes time allowed says the fourth official.
46 mins: Excellent reaction save from Sorensen who saves a Drogba effort from close range after the striker had made contact to a left wing cross.

49 mins: Ivanovic's long throw is headed away to the edge of the area where Lampard drills the ball narrowly over the bar.
50 mins: City awarded another free kick in a decent area but Huth blasts it well wide and over.
53 mins: Pugh is penalised for a foul on the edge of the area on the right hand side and Drogba hits it at goal but Sorensen saves comfortably.
60 mins: Tuncay is replaced by Liam Lawrence whilst David Kitson comes on for Mamady Sidibe.
61 mins: Kitson is immediately involved in the action with a show of good control before setting Pugh free down the left. His cross into the box is cleared to safety though.
65 mins: The Stoke fans are up on their feet urging the lads on as Chelsea have gone a bit quiet and flat. Delap's long throw is headed behind for a corner but Huth heads the flag kick over.
67 mins: Wilkinson keeps City in the game with a goal-line block of Anelka's header after Drogba had crossed for the Frenchman.
67 mins - GOAL: A John Terry header deflects off Wilkinson en-route to goal and ends up in the back of the net. 2-0 to Chelsea.
75 mins: Sorensen tips Lampard's swerving dipping effort around the post, great save.
80 mins: Abdoulaye Faye's header hits the roof of the net after a free kick came into the area from the left flank.
81 mins: Tricky footwork by Fuller down the left earns Stoke a throw and another chance for Delap to hurl one in. He does and Faye rises to meet it but he heads over from close range. He'll be disappointed not to have hit the target there.
84 mins: Sorensen is out quickly to save Kalou's effort.
89 mins: Lampard plays in Anelka with a low pass through the defence but he sees his effort go narrowly wide of the post.
90 mins: Fuller twists and turns on the left and cuts inside, however, he sees his effort saved well down at his near post by Hilario.
90 mins: Two minutes of additional time are added on at the end of the original 90.
