Season Ticket Success

The Fans

Stoke City can today reveal the club have so far sold 7,500 season tickets for the 2007/08 Coca-Cola Championship campaign.

Tickets went on sale on the 10th of April and have topped last season's figure by over a thousand.

Chief Executive Tony Scholes is delighted with the news and hopes for more supporters to swell the figure before the start of the season.

"I want to thank the supporters for committing themselves for next season, and in particular the fans that bought their season tickets early.

"Selling over a thousand more than we did at this stage last season shows how far the club have progressed over the last year and we aim to sell over 8,000 before the season begins," Scholes said.

City's progress on the field last season saw the arrival of high-profile players such as Lee Hendrie, Andy Griffin and Salif Diao and the Britannia Stadium witnessed the second-highest average attendance in over ten years.

"Last season we saw the club narrowly miss out on the play-offs and as we're aiming higher next season, having more supporters in the stadium can only help," added Tony.

The news adds to a good summer of announcements at the club with the purchase of the Britannia Stadium, the record-breaking Le Coq Sportif kit deal and the signing of Jon Parkin from Hull City.

If you are yet to order your 2007/08 season ticket, you can do so by calling the Ticket Office on 0871 663 2007.
