Fans Get Shirty

Posted on: Tue 07 Aug 2007

Stoke City Football Club can announce that sales of the new shirt, supplied by Le Coq Sportif, are much higher than anticipated.

More shirts have been sold within the first four days of the shirt going on sale than in the first month of sales last year, with 1200 sales in total.

The new strip arrived for sale on Thursday morning after customs delayed the precious cargo at Heathrow airport for a number of hours on Wednesday. Since Thursday the Club Shop at the Britannia Stadium, and the Store in Hanley, have been busy with a constant stream of supporters wishing to purchase the new kit.

After some problems with last seasons kit supplier the club were confident that Le Coq Sportif would bring a quality manufacturer to the Club.

Club Shop Manager Wayne Cowen said, "We are delighted with the response from the fans. We at the Club think that this is a fantastic kit and we are pleased that the fans feel the same."
