Dominic Matteo has today agreed a new 12-month contract at the Britannia Stadium.

The former Liverpool star joined the Potters in January from Blackburn Rovers.

He went on to make nine appearances for the club, bagging his only goal during the impressive 2-0 win away at Derby towards the end of last season.

Tony Pulis brought the experienced holding midfielder to strengthen up the squad, and the club are delighted to sign him up for a further year.

Speaking to the official website says he is delighted with the news, saying: "We are very pleased to have Dom signed up for another season.

"He adds great experience to the squad, the lads all like him and he showed last season he is still a good performer."

Dominic could feature in tomorrow's season opener at Cardiff, and has been handed the number 16 shirt.
