Dave Kemp believes the current injuries in the camp could pave the way for one or two players to stake a claim for a spot in the first team.
Midfielder John Eustace is among those looking to take advantage of a full house in the treatment room after such a long time in there himself, and Kemp's hoping he can come in to make an impact if he is selected.
Speaking at today's pre-match press conference, the Assistant Manager says: "He came on Saturday and did a really good job and if he starts tomorrow at West Brom it'll be a great opportunity for him.
"John Eustace is a good player but he didn't have the best of pre-seasons.
"He trained really hard and got himself really fit but in doing that he may have took a little bit out of himself.
"But I don't see any reason why he can't return to the form he once showed.
"Hopefully he's settled down and now he can get back to the Eustace we know - a really good and solid midfield player."
Meanwhile, Kemp acknowledges what a good job physio Dave Watson is doing to get the players back out and ready for selection as soon as he possibly can.
"Yeah, it's always busy!" he smiles.
"Dave's doing a great job down there patching them up and getting them out and it will be the same tomorrow for West Brom.
"Hopefully Mama (Sidibe) will train today and that's positive but we'll have to see if there's any reaction after he's trained.
"I don't think Rory's going to make it though as he's got a groin injury.
"I don't think it's going to heel up in three or four days but he's better than we expected and there's hope for the weekend
"But we're hoping Dickinson can train today.
"He gets pain when he's kicking although he can run ok.
"But as he's getting jip when he does kick we'll have to see how he is this morning."
Another player who could feature in Wednesday's squad is French striker Vincent Pericard, subject to approval from the Home Office.
