Striker Vincent Pericard admits he feels like a new man following his goal-scoring return on Wednesday night.
The former Juventus striker scored a late goal to secure maximum points in the reserve clash against Leicester in his first appearance following his release from prison.
And following the match he couldn't hide his delight.
He says: "I am very, very pleased with how it went, I was really looking forward to the game.
"I had a few chances in the game and it was a relief for me to see the ball go in the net.
"I enjoyed the running around tonight, I feel like a new person and I want to work as hard as I can to get in to the first team.
"My new mentality is to give everything I have got, and if I am tired and need to come off after an hour then so be it.
"I didn't have the best of years last season, but I feel totally different now and I am determined to show everyone I am good enough to play for this club and do well."
The 25-year old now hopes to stake a claim for a first team spot, but knows he faces stiff competition.
"Of course, I just want to get in to the first team now," says Vincent.
"I will give my all in training, I will be in all this week because I want to get myself going again.
"The other lads are doing very well at the moment but it is up to me to show I deserve a place by training well and scoring goals when I get the chance.
"I have got to be patient and make sure I am ready for when the manager wants to pick me," he adds.
