Dave's Park Life
The Potters look to get back to winning ways tonight when they face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park with one member of the City coaching staff knowing all to well about the venue that awaits them.
Assistant Manager Dave Kemp, a former striker in his playing days, began his professional career at Selhurst Park and has fond memories of the ground.
"I scored my first league goal there and I've had some big wins there too - Selhurst has been a big part of my life", said Kemp.
"It's funny really because I played there, I was Assistant Manager at Crystal Palace and then when I was at Wimbledon they played at Selhurst Park as well.
"I've spent a lot of my footballing career there so it is a bit of a special ground for me."
The latest manager to step foot through the doors at the home of Crystal Palace is none-other-than Neil Warnock, and it is the ex-Sheffield United number one's first home game in charge of the Eagles tonight.
"It's always difficult when a new manager takes over," admits Kemp.
"I'm sure the players are running that extra yard and I'm sure the fans will be up for it but we'll be ready for it as well and we're looking forward to it.
"He likes to play at a high tempo and I'm sure he'll have his players fired up.
"But how long that enthusiasm will last if we go there with the right attitude and the right game plan we'll see.
"Hopefully we can quieten them down early on and then get on top of them.
"We're definitely looking forward to getting back to winning ways."
