Liam Lawrence has dedicated his last ditch winner to team-mate Carl Dickinson following the sad death of his father.

The former Sunderland winger nodded home in the 93rd minute, to turn the game on its head after Jim Goodwin fired the hosts ahead in the 85th minute.

And following the match, Liam paid tribute to the defender, saying: "I want to dedicate that goal to Dicko.

"For him to play tonight and train everyday after what he has been through says a lot about him.

"He has had a horrible time and I am absolutely delighted to have won the game for him."

The win moved the Potters back up to joint sixth with Wolves, and the winger insists the players have got to make sure they get something from the Sheffield United game.

He says: "We needed it tonight, and maybe we were a little lucky but for us to battle until the last minute typifies who we are.

"We need to get something from the Sheffield game now because two weeks off is a long time, and we want to make sure we stay in there."

Liam's fifth yellow card of the season against Coventry last Saturday means he misses this weekend's clash, and he admits he is devastated.

"I'm gutted to be honest with you," he admitted.

"All my family are Sheffield fans and my friends so it's disappointing to miss out but I will be there cheering them on."
