Pugh's Platform

Posted on: Tue 27 Nov 2007

Danny Pugh feels Saturday's draw at Burnley can be a platform for success following a run of disappointing results stretching back to mid October.

City have picked up maximum points just the once since mid October but Pugh believes good results are just around the corner.

"It was a good point, especially being away from home," believes Pugh.

"The clean sheet is definitely a bonus, especially for the lads at the back as I don't think we've had one for a while. That's definitely a positive to come out of the game.

"If we can now go on to get to home wins back to back that'll make last Saturday's draw an ever better result.

"We're looking to build upon the draw and hope to get maximum points from the games at the Britannia."

And that bid starts tonight as Queens Park Rangers arrive at the Britannia, a team that have been struggling at the foot of the table since the beginning of the season.

"They've not got off to the best of starts but when a new manager comes in they change things around," Danny said.

"They'll be looking to improve and I think that they have been doing that as of late.

"It's upto us to go out and get the three points. If we do string a couple of good results together we can soon shoot back up the table."

Having played at left-back for the first time since signing on loan, Pugh admits he doesn't mind playing there, or his preferred left midfield position, as long as he's involved in the action.

"I played the first few games at left midfield but then I played left back at Burnley - but wherever the manager picks me I'll try and do my best.

"At the end of the day I don't mind where I play so long as I'm selected!"
