City star Danny Pugh has urged fans to flock back to the Britannia Stadium this Sunday and roar the players on to another home victory.

The biggest crowd of the season so far witnessed the 2-1 win over Norwich in City's last game in Stoke-on-Trent a week ago, and Pugh believes that the support is a vital ingredient in the bid to overcome table-toppers Watford this weekend.

"The big crowds make a difference," said Pugh.

"You can feel that there are more people, there's a better atmosphere in the crowd and it definitely gives the players a lift.

"Obviously I've played against Stoke in my time and no one likes to come here because the fans are that good for the home team.

"There is a buzz about the place, especially like last Saturday for the game against Norwich.

"The supporters were a different class.

"If we can keep winning games then hopefully they will keep coming.

"It'll be better for everyone and that's what we aim to do."

The Potters prepare for arguably their toughest test of the campaign to date and Pugh is under no illusions that Adrian Boothroyd's men will be easy pickings.

Despite the Hornets losing four of their last seven games, they come from behind to win at Colchester United on Tuesday night to stretch the gap from second place to four points.

But with City unbeaten in their last four, a run of results that also includes three consecutive wins, Pugh is anticipating a tasty encounter.

"It's going to be a massive game and one that everyone is looking forward to," added Danny.

"The league is wide open this season and anybody can beat anybody so that's what makes it such an enjoyable and exciting league to be in.

"It's a big test for us and it may become a benchmark to see how good we are."

Don't forget that Season Ticket Holders can get two FREE tickets for the game, and have until 12 noon on Sunday to claim them.

The Britannia Stadium Ticket Office will also remain open until 5.30pm on Saturday to accommodate any demands.
