Andy Griffin believes good times are ahead after City moved to within one point of the automatic promotion places.
A brace from Leon Cort and a Richard Cresswell goal secured maximum points for the Potters against Preston, extending their unbeaten run in the Championship to twelve games.
And following the match he revealed he is very excited for the future.
"This club is really going somewhere," says Andy.
"To be third in the league on January 19th is a very, very good feeling.
"The lads have done absolutely brilliantly this season, and they deserve all the credit for what they have achieved.
"Maybe the players aren't as big names as they were last season, but they are all very good players.
"I don't think the club has been in this sort of position for a very long time, but we can't take our foot off the pedal.
"We all know what we want to achieve, and we are all determined to get there."
The 28-year old defender penned a four and a half year deal last week after completing a £300,000 move from Derby County, and says he owes the fans a massive thank you after welcoming him back to the Britannia Stadium.
"I would like to thank the fans for how they reacted before the game," he says.
"I was very apprehensive before the game because I thought I would get a little bit of stick.
"I would have understood it, but thankfully they were very good to me.
"Hopefully I can play a part in getting this club in to the Premier League now, because I know how much it would mean to them, and they absolutely deserve it."
