After round one of Group B's football finished last night, Mamady Sidibe's Mali are now joint-top of the table ahead of their tasty clash with Nigeria on Friday.
Mali won their game with Benin last night 1-0 thanks to a Freddi Kanoute penalty after 49 minutes.
Sidibe came onto the field after 55 minutes but was substituted himself with a minute remaining as the Eagles looked to secure the victory with an extra defender.
Nigeria, meanwhile, were on the wrong side of a 1-0 scoreline with the Ivory Coast as Chelsea's Saloman Kalou grabbed the only goal of the game.
Going into Friday's games, the Group B standings look as follows:
1 Ivory Coast P1 W1 F1 A0 GD 1 Pts 3
2 Mali P1 W1 F1 A0 GD 1 Pts 3
3 Benin P1 L1 F0 A1 GD -1 Pts 0
