City striker Adam Rooney has today joined Bury on a month's loan while midfielder Anthony Pulis has linked up with Bristol Rovers on a three month deal.

Rooney goes straight into the League Two outfit's side to face Bradford City at Valley Parade on Saturday.

The 19 year old, who featured for the Irish Under 21's in the midweek defeat to their English counterparts, enjoyed a similar spell with Chesterfield earlier this season where he notched 6 goals in 11 league starts and 11 substitute appearances.

"Adam needs to be playing more games," said manager Tony Pulis.

"He learnt a lot at Chesterfield but was on the bench towards the end of his stay.

"Getting him back out on loan and playing regularly is what he needs now to keep improving."

Bury are currently 21st in Coca-Cola League Two on 25 points, two points and two places above Robbie Garrett's Wrexham.

Rooney links ups with former Chesterfield Assistant Manager Alan Knill, who has now taken over the managerial position at Bury.

Pulis, meanwhile, links up with Bristol Rovers on a three month loan deal.

The 23 year old recently featured in both FA Cup games with Newcastle United after injuries had kept him on the sidelines since August.

The Pirates are mid-table in League One and have a tough trip to second placed Doncaster Rovers this weekend.
