I'm Here To Stay - Pulis

Posted on: Sat 09 Feb 2008

City boss Tony Pulis has categorically dismissed rumours linking him with a move away from the club after the 4-2 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Speculation regarding the managers future at the Britannia Stadium had been rife with the media tipping him as the front runner for the vacant managerial position at Southampton.

Pulis saw his side go to within two points of top spot after goals from Rory Delap, Liam Lawrence, Leon Cort and Ricardo Fuller got the Potters all three points.

"Two points off an automatic promotion spot, do you think I'll leave?!," Pulis told Stoke City World.

"Its ridiculous really, there's a lot of things said in the papers but I'm happy here.

"I've got a good relationship with Peter (Coates) and things are going well.

"Southampton are a great football club and I live down there so I can see the connection there but I have a job to do at this football club."

With three home games now to follow, the win sets up arguably the biggest week of the season so far, and Pulis isn't ruling out automatic promotion to the Premier League.

"There's 15 games to go and we'll take it game by game but in each of those fifteen games if we play like we did today, there's no reason why we can't be in the top two.

"To come to a place like Wolves, who had 25,000 fans behind them, and get a win like we did says everything you need to know about our players.

"They showed a lot of character to come back from behind and maybe another set of players would have crumbled.

"There's 45 points left to play for and anything can happen."
