Midfielder Rory Delap insists City have achieved nothing yet despite maintaining their place at the top of the table after picking up another three points on Saturday.

The winning streak was extended to five games with the 1-0 victory over Ipswich Town, but Delap insists it was just another game and it won't mean anything until the end of the season.

"Being top means nothing at the moment," Delap told Stoke City World.

"Obviously it's nice to be up there but it doesn't mean anything unless we're there in May.

"We don't really talk about it in the dressing room - we have a look at the other results but we'll think more about it on the last day of the season."

The victory over the Tractor Boys means that the Potters are now one point ahead of the chasing pack, as opposed to goal difference, with Delap believing it was a difficult game to play in.

"It was a bit difficult to play in because of the wind conditions to be honest.

"It was always going to be a tough game but we stuck at it and put the performance in to get the result.

"We did what we do well and restricted their chances and did well going forward, then Liam's done it again and scored a great goal."

Rory is set to miss Sunday's trip to Queens Park Rangers after picking up his fifth booking of the season during the 1-0 win, but with the seven day ruling in effect he will be available for tomorrow night's game at Preston North End.

"Preston will be a tough one," added Delap.

"They've picked up a little bit but if we play our game then we can come back with the three points.

"I picked up a little knock on my ankle but I'll be ok for it.

"I think my booking was a little bit harsh because it was my first foul.

"It's been coming for a while now, but I'm disappointed to be suspended.

"There's plenty of players to come in though."
