Griffin Wins Appeal

Posted on: Wed 05 Mar 2008

Andy Griffin has rightly escaped a potential three match suspension after the FA overturned the defenders red card.

At a Regulatory Commission hearing this afternoon, the Potters argued Griffin's case with the backing off QPR midfielder Hogan Ephraim and referee Andy D'Urso, who yesterday revealed he had made the wrong decision.

The former Newcastle star, who was sent off in the first half of the Potters 3-0 defeat against the R's for serious foul play, could have missed out on City's clashes against Burnley, Norwich and Watford.

However he is now free to play a part in the crucial run in as City push for a place in the Premier League.
