It's In Our Hands - Pugh
Danny Pugh says a place in the Premier League is in the players own hands with just six games remaining.
Despite failing to beat Blackpool, the point moved City one point clear at the top of the Championship, and the former Preston man insists they are in a great position.
"Obviously we are disappointed not to get the win," he told Stoke City World.
"But if someone had told us we would be top of the league with just six games to go at the start of the seaso you would absolutely snap their hands off.
"This season is still in our own hands and it is up to us to make sure we stay up there and achieve what we want to achieve."
A draw for the visitors adds to their recent scalps of Charlton Athletic and Hull City and although Pugh knew it would be prove to be a testing encounter, it was one that the Potters still should have come away from with all three points.
"It was a tough game and we knew that would be the case.
"But we can't make any excuses; we wanted to win the game and needed to win the game.
"A win today would have been a massive help to us, but we are still up there and we will be giving it our all for the last six games."
