Reggae Boyz Relief

Posted on: Mon 09 Jun 2008

Ricardo Fuller and Demar Phillips both featured for Jamaica in their friendly with Trinidad & Tobago at the weekend.

The Reggae Boyz snatched a 1-1 draw thanks to a last minute penalty when former Crewe keeper Clayton Ince brought down Sheffield United striker Luton Shelton in the box.

Shelton picked himself up to net from the spot as Jamaica step up their preparations for the World Cup qualifiers with the Bahamas.

Phillips played the full ninety minutes while Fuller, who was booked in the game, played for just over an hour before being replaced by Shelton.

The Jamaicans now face Grenada away tomorrow night before the double header with the Bahamas.

"We're going into the qualifiers very confident as we look toward 2010 in South Africa," Phillips said.

"We have to go into this World Cup campaign as a group, and the coach has told us that we have to believe in ourselves as individuals and as a team."

Jamaica's remaining fixture list is as follows:

Friendly
10th June - Grenada (a)

FIFA World Cup 2010 Qualifiers
15th June - Bahamas (Kingston, Jamaica)
18th June - Bahamas (Trelawny, Jamaica)
