Striker Ricardo Fuller admits that he can't wait for the new season to begin and is relishing another crack at top flight-football.

The fixtures are released next Monday and they will show the Potters in the Premier League for the first time, with Ricardo eagerly anticipating the opening game of the new season.

"Oh yes for sure I am excited," he said ahead of his appearance tonight for Jamaica against Greneda.

"That's the place where every player wants to be.

"They all want to be in the top league and test their skills and potential and be among the best players in the game."

The 28-year old last tasted Premier League football during an injury ravaged spell with Portsmouth back in 2005 and is determined to better his return of one solitary goal from 31 appearances.

"People forget the injuries and setbacks," he pointed out.

"If it was not for my determination and self-will maybe I would have quit a long time ago, so people have to give credit where it is due.

"I've had bad luck with injuries, which has been one of my main setbacks.

"But I've worked really hard to be where I am at and I always try my best.

"I take each day a step at a time, and whether or not it is in training or a game I always try to give everything I have every single time."

City sealed promotion back into the top flight on the final day of the last season after the draw with Leicester, and Fuller believes the club deserve all the praise it can get for making the return to the big time.

"This was what we set out for and it's incredible for Stoke City, not being in the top flight for 23 years, this is a great achievement," he added.

"Arguably the Premier League is the best league in the world, and with Stoke being there I will be able to test my skills and potential against these players, but the first thing will be to try and keep Stoke in the league."
