Tony Pulis took his players to the local stadium yesterday morning for a brief training session ahead of the clash with FC Nuremberg in Stainach.

He and the rest of the management staff put the players through their paces with a short run, before working on tactics and closing down in an 11 a-side game, in preperation for the clash.

Fitness coach John McKeown then took the players aside for a series of stretches to warm the players down following the session.

Following the short bus journey back to the hotel, the players took to the restaurant for an early lunch before setting back to their rooms for a two hour rest.

Toast and cereal was then on offer shortly before making the 40 minute journey to Stainach for the match against the German side.

Pulis fielded a strong starting line up with Dave Kitson making his debut for the Potters, before making wholesale changes at half time.

Despite succumbing to a 1-0 defeat, the workout proved to be useful as the players got another game under their belts ahead of the Barclays Premier League opener against Bolton on August 16th.

Upon returning to the hotel, the squad enjoyed dinner, which comprised of fish, turkey, chicken and pasta or potatoes.

Pulis then revealed the players would have Wednesday off, in order to recharge their batteries ahead of the final game of the tour against Bahrain on Friday.

After a leisurely Wednesday morning, which saw several players taking advantage of the hotels luxurious spa and health centre, a number of players took to the local golf course along with Director of Football John Rudge, while a few others made the trip to the tennis courts with first team coach Mark O'Connor.

The golf got underway at around 2pm, 30 minutes later than scheduled after a terrential downpour delayed the start of the action.

Jon Parkin was first to tee off in his four ball, along with Rudge, Danny Pugh and Glenn Whelan, and sent his shot straight down the middle of the fair way.

Rudge then took to the tee with his trademark left handed stance, and scuffed his opening shot barely five yards, much to the delight of the rest of the players who had been giving him stick ahead of the game.

Despite more rain making its way through the Alpines, the players continued doggidly around the course and returned to the club house at around 5pm, with Richard Cresswell's four ball (Cresswell, Dave Watson, Ryan Shawcross and Rory Delap) coming out victorious.

At around 6pm the squad left the hotel complex to make the winding journey up the mountain to the Loserhutt Restaurant, which offers breathtaking views for almost 100 miles.

Upon returning to the hotel at 8:45pm local time, the squad returned to their rooms to rest ahead of training tomorrow morning.
