Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Mick McCarthy believes City have secured a superb player in Seyi Olofinjana, after the midfielder signed for the Potters this morning.

The Nigerian international became the club's second signing of the summer after completing a £3,000,000 deal, and his former boss believes he has all the attributes to be a success in the Premier League.

He said: "He's a Premier League player and if he gets the opportunity he'll go.

"Everyone I've spoken to, I've said, 'take him' because if I was a Premier League manager I'd sign him - he's that good.

"He'll probably be better in the Premier League than he was in the Championship."
