STOKE CITY now turn their attention to further progress in the Carling Cup . . . knowing full well that they face a tough tie against the Championship's surprise package Blackpool tomorrow evening.
That fact was underlined again this weekend when Ian Holloway's side earned a 1-0 victory at Nottingham Forest which means they are now in seventh place in the Coca Cola Championship after a fine start.
Blackpool have lost only once in 10 outings this season and as well as defeating Premier League Wigan Athletic to secure their third round trip to the Britannia Stadium, they also ended Newcastle United's unbeaten start to the campaign with a 2-1 victory at Bloomfield Road last week.
Their latest success at the City Ground came courtesy of a 19th minute goal from Club record £500,000 signing Charlie Adam, his fourth goal in the last five matches following his summer move from Glasgow Rangers.
City boss Tony Pulis knows full well that Blackpool will provide tough opposition on Tuesday evening and he is hoping for a good crowd to roar on his side as they look to go through to the next stage of the competition.
Tickets are currently on sale for the Carling Cup tie and they are priced at just £10.00 for adults and £5.00 for concessions. To book your tickets click below or call the Britannia Stadium Ticket office on 0871 663 2008.
