RICARDO FULLER believes Stoke City have a realistic chance of adding to Liverpool's recent woes on Saturday when the two sides lock horns at the Britannia Stadium.

Rafael Benitez' side have endured a dissappointing campaign so far, having already been knocked out of the Champions League, FA Cup and Carling Cup, while any ambitions of finishing in the top four of the Premier League remain firmly in the balance.

But despite that, the Potters' Jamaican international striker admits it is still going to take a mammoth effort to pick up maximum points against 'one of the biggest football clubs in the world'.

"Things haven't gone the way Liverpool would have hoped, but that isn't neccessarily a good thing for us," he exclusively told Stoke City Player ahead of tomorrow's live televised clash.

"While we are confident and believe we can get the result we want we have to remember who we are coming up against, and what they have in their locker.

"The defeat against Reading in the week would have been a mammoth blow to them, and they will be hurting; so they definitely won't need firing up for this one.

"I'm sure with the world's eyes on the game at the weekend, they will be desperate to get back on track, but we have to do our utmost to make sure that doesn't happen, and that is something we are capable of doing."

City severely dented Liverpool's title aspirations last season after holding the Reds to goalless draws both in the Potteries and on Merseyside. However, while the 30 year-old admits those results prove the Potters can spring a surprise, he insists they mean nothing once kick-off comes around.

"We did really well against them last season, both at home and away. It was a testament to how far we have come that we managed to hold the to two draws, but we all know it won't mean a thing on Saturday.

"We went to their place earlier in the season and they turned us over, and we possibly played better in that game than we did in either of the two last year. But that alone shows how good they are because they still beat us 4-0.

"With our fantastic supporters behind us, however, we will be going out and giving it a right go, because we want to make amends for the result at Anfield in August."
