Vieira Charged With Violent Conduct
MANCHESTER City midfielder Patrick Vieira has been charged with violent conduct following his clash with Glenn Whelan in the Barclays Premier League match at the Britannia Stadium on Tuesday evening.
The Football Association have confirmed that the French international has been charged in relation to the challenge on Whelan in which he appeared to kick out at the Stoke City midfielder early in the game.
The clash was one of a number of controversial incidents in the game which prompted City boss Tony Pulis to call for "parity" in his post-match press conference.
Pulis said at the time: "There were certain incidents in the first half which I am not too pleased with. If the referee didn't see them, then I hope the FA take a look at them. We had a player given a three-match suspension a couple of months back after the referee missed an incident, but the FA then charged him retrospectively."
"The incidents involving Manchester City players in the first half were as bad, if not worse. I'm not asking for anything more than parity. I just want the same as everyone else."
