CARLO NASH was today linking up with Stoke City's squad at their training camp in Austria with a view to him joining the Club on a 12-month agreement.
The 36-year-old goalkeeper has flown from Everton's pre-season tour of Australia to City's training base in Irdning as manager Tony Pulis looks to replace the recently-departed Steve Simonsen after he completed a free transfer move to Sheffield United.
Pulis wants additional cover for Thomas Sorensen and Asmir Begovic in his squad and Nash's return to the Britannia Stadium would be an ideal move.
The former Manchester City and Preston North End 'keeper proved to be a popular figure when he spent two months on an emergency loan with the Potters at the end of the 2007-08 season following Martin Fulop's recall to Sunderland.
Nash made 10 appearances for City during that spell, but after his hopes of a permanent move to the Britannia Stadium did not materialise in the summer of 2008, he joined Everton, the club he supported as a boy, to act as cover for Tim Howard.
Although he was released by David Moyes at the end of last season, he was offered the chance to link up with Everton again for their pre-season build-up due to the fact that both Howard and recent signing Jan Mucha were both given extended breaks following their exploits in the World Cup Finals with the United States and Slovakia respectively.
