CARLO NASH has revealed that his decision to link up with Stoke City was an easy one . . . despite Tony Pulis confirming he will be his third choice goalkeeper.
The 36-year-old former Manchester City and Everton 'keeper, who arrived at City's Austrian training camp yesterday evening with a view to signing a 12-month deal with the Club, has both Thomas Sorensen and Asmir Begovic ahead of him in the pecking order.
However, while he knows that first team football may be a remote possibility, he insists he was more than happy to return to a Club moving in the right direction.
"Stoke is a massive Football Club and they are certainly a team who are progressing. You only have to look at what has been achieved here in the last few years," he exclusively told Stoke City Player.
"To come back and see a lot of the lads I played with before makes it so much easier for me, and then there's the gaffer too. He knows what I am about and I know what he is like, so it was easy to say yes when he asked me if I would like to come here."
He added: "I have fond memories of this Club. Getting promotion to the Premier League was something I won't ever forget and it all happened in the space of two months. I feel a part of this Football Club and I'm delighted to be here again."
"I know I am behind Tommy and Asmir and hopefully we can all work together as a good goalkeeping unit. If we all push each other on in training then that can only be a good thing for the Football Club.
"It's a totally different scenario when you are a goalkeeper because you are all battling for one position. What you have to do is work hard and make sure you are ready, because when you get a chance you have to take it."
