TONY PULIS today urged Stoke City supporters to be patient as he continues to work on strengthening his squad ahead of the new season.
Although City have been linked with a long list of possible transfer targets over the summer months, the only arrivals at the Britannia Stadium so far have the seen the return of goalkeeper Carlo Nash and the signing of Belgian teenager Florent Cuvelier.
But in responding the latest round of speculation, Pulis insisted that the Club would play the waiting game for the right players at the right price.
"We'll have to be patient," insisted City's manager. "We've been working very, very hard and diligently to try and get deals done. Things haven't gone for us at the moment, but that doesn't mean to say we're not trying behind the scenes.
"We want to make sure that when we do bring players in, they are players that can move us on because it's all about trying to improve the squad."
Pulis dismissed some of the latest links as "agents talk" and added: "It's lovely that people are linking us with targets rather than the ones we're actually looking at."
