STOKE CITY have received encouraging news about the ankle injury sustained by club record signing Kenwyne Jones at Molineux on Saturday.
The £8 million striker underwent a series of scans and X-rays on the damaged right ankle on Monday but they revealed that there was no serious damage.
Jones limped out of his City debut after just 10 minutes at the weekend after suffering the injury in a challenge with Wolves defender Jody Craddock.
But scans and X-rays on his right ankle have ruled out the possibility of the Trinidad and Tobago international being sidelined for a long period.

"The news is as good as we could have expected in the circumstances," revealed manager Tony Pulis. "We were obviously very concerned about the extent of the damage over the weekend, but the tests have shown only minor ligament damage.
"We will assess Kenwyne's progress over the next few days, so it is hard to say how long he will be out, but we are talking days rather than weeks or months."
