- Born in Aghagallon in Northern Ireland, Marc moved over to England at a young age to join Mancheter United. After four years with their youth set-up, he moved to Portsmouth in 2004 -

- To gain valuable first team experience, he was sent out on loan to Yeovil Town, Bournemouth (twice) and Luton Town. He's pictured above turning out for the Cherries -

- He stayed at Fratton Park for the 2008/09 season with his first starting coming in the 3-0 UEFA Cup win over Heerenveen -

- On Boxing Day 2008 he made his first league appearance and had to contend with West Ham United and Craig Bellamy! -

- In total, he went on to make 49 appearance for the South Coast club -

- Last season, he played in all three of Pompey's games with the Potters, including City's league wins at Fratton Park and the Britannia Stadium -

- After initially representing Northern Ireland at Under 15 level, he switched allegiances to the Republic of Ireland and went to play for their Under 18, Under 19 and Under 21 sides. He was called up into the full squad to play Brazil in a friendly last March but didn't feature -

- Marc's began this season as the Portsmouth captain and has played alongside Stoke loanees Carl Dickinson and Ibrahima Sonko -
