Glenn established himself as a key member of City's midfield in the second half of last season after producing the sort of form that first earned him a move here in January 2008.
The former Manchester City trainee became known as one of the best players outside the Premier League during his four years at Sheffield Wednesday from 2004-08 and was a popular £500,000 signing for City midway through our promotion campaign.
The 25-year-old found his first-team opportunities limited following the opening-day defeat at Bolton last season but he retained a regular place in the Republic of Ireland side and forced his way back into Tony Pulis' plans over the festive period.
He went on to score some crucial goals, most notably his late equaliser at Aston Villa.
