Danny proved to be a valuable member of City's squad in their debut Premier League season but he will be hoping for a more regular role this campaign.
The 26-year-old first joined the Potters on loan from Preston in November 2007 before completing a permanent £500,000 transfer to the Britannia Stadium in January 2008.
He wiped out memories of play-off failures with Preston and Leeds by winning automatic promotion in his first year at the Club and played 17 times in the Club's debut Premier League campaign.
Danny can play in centre midfield or anywhere down the left-hand side but he struggled for opportunities last season and did not make a league appearance until December last year.
He stayed in favour from then, however, and remains a key member of the squad.
