Amdy is in his second season at the Britannia Stadium after joining from Charlton Athletic in the summer of 2008 and the midfielder's experience is crucial for City.
The 32-year-old originally signed a one-year contract at the Club following his move from the Addicks, but that deal was extended by a further 12 months midway through last season after a series of impressive performances.
The Senegal international has played in the Premier League for Portsmouth and Newcastle United as well as in the SPL with Glasgow Rangers and he played 21 times in the league last season before an injury curtailed his campaign.
