Striker Adam capped a remarkable season by netting his first senior hat-trick on the final day of the campaign against Brighton.
The young Dubliner's treble came on only his second start for the club and after he had only opened his first-team account with a solitary strike against champions Reading a fortnight before.
He made his City debut as a substitute at Tamworth in the FA Cup in January, having only arrived at the Britannia Stadium after trial in the summer.
A physical striker with a powerful right-foot, the teenager spent a loan spell with Yeovil Town in the latter stages of the 2006/07 season.
A candidate for the Wickes Young Apprentice of the Year, Rooney will look to build on this experience next season.
