Signed from Leeds United for an undisclosed fee in the summer of 2007, Richard has a great goalscoring pedigree.
He began his career with York City but enjoyed his most fruitful spell in front of goal at Preston, where he partnered Ricardo Fuller in attack.
He will hope to regain the great understanding he forged with Fuller this campaign as the Potters push for promotion.
