Stoke City Old Boys Association (SCOBA) was the brain child of former player Geoff Scott, who in the early part of 2009 invited a number of former players to a meeting to hear his ideas and vision of creating a unique club where former Stoke City players could reunite friendships and give support to each other.
It was officially launched on 22nd April 2009 when a host of former players gathered at the Britannia Stadium.
SCOBA's objectives are clear and simple:
- To reunite former players from all eras and renew friendships
- To assist any former player in need of support
- Host events to raise funds for local charities and good causes
- Allow supporters to engage with the legends of the club
The commitment to helping local charities and good causes has seen recent donations of £3,000 to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire's Cancer Ward as well as football equipment to a local youngsters league.
SCOBA has the full support of the Football Club and are also pleased to provide members with complimentary match tickets for all home games, which include pre and post match hospitality (subject to availability).
