11 Potters added an hour to their pre-season minutes as Mark Robins’ side returned to match action against Premier League champions Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

Four days on from their clash against Brighton & Hove Albion, City faced Arne Slot’s side in a behind-closed-doors encounter at the AXA Training Center, where the hosts fielded new signings Florian Wirtz, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong, alongside many mainstays of the side which lifted a 20th Premier League title in May, including Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah.

Junior Tchamadeu, Bosun Lawal, Eric Bocat, Sol Sidibe, Ben Pearson, Million Manhoef, Sorba Thomas and Divin Mubama all played their first hour of pre-season action for the Potters, to add to their respective minutes against Shrewsbury Town and Brighton.

Viktor Johansson, Ben Wilmot and Lewis Baker added a further 60 minutes following their hour against the Seagulls.

Slot’s side came out on top in the contest, with Uruguay international Darwin Nunez scoring a hat-trick before Rio Ngumoha and Federico Chiesa added further strikes.
