Allen: 'A Game' Required

Joe Allen

JOE ALLEN says he and his Stoke City teammates must bring their 'A game' to the table if they are to return from The Den will all three points on Saturday.

The Potters head to South East London to take on a Millwall side desperate to claim maximum spoils as they aim to seal a third successive season the Championship.

The Lions sit a place and three points clear of the relegation zone, and know a win this weekend will all but secure their safety and consign Rotherham United to relegation.

Allen fully expects a tough challenge against Neil Harris’ men and feels the Potters need to be physically and mentally strong during the early game at The Den (1.30pm).

“I’ve played at Millwall before, although it’s been a few years now (April 2011),” the Wales international expressed to stokecityfc.com.

“It will be a difficult test, perhaps a different sort of challenge to the likes of Monday, but one just as tough in other ways.

“The lads know physically and mentally they need to right up for it and bring their 'A game' because they have got everything to play for. They will be hugely motivated to try and beat us.

“Let’s hope we can go down there, perform well and give our away fans something to go home happy about.”
