'Bertie' To Attend Class Of 92 Evening

Wayne Biggins

WAYNE ‘BERTIE’ BIGGINS is the latest ex-player to sign up for the Stoke City Community Trust’s very own Class of 92 evening at the bet365 Stadium later this year.

The former terrace favourite at the old Victoria Ground will in attendance with his old teammates in March to celebrate the 25th anniversary of one of the Club’s favourite ever sides.

The 1992/93 campaign turned out to be a truly unforgettable one for Lou Macari's side as they clinched the Second Division title in style at the Club’s former home.
The Potters squad smashed a number of Club records throughout the course of the campaign, including most points for a season (93) and longest unbeaten run (25).

The team’s success unsurprisingly created many fans’ favourites with the likes of Vince Overson, Nigel Gleghorn, Kevin ‘Rooster’ Russell, Biggins and goal machine Mark Stein heroes to many.

Macari, defender Lee Sanford, born and bred midfielder Carl Beeston, winger Tony Kelly, attacker Russell and forward Stein have already confirmed their attendance with more expected to be announced in due course.

The event, which is now sold out, will take place in the Tony Waddington Suite on Friday 23rd March with a 7.00pm start and 11.30pm finish.
