Bursik Receives England Call

GOALKEEPER Josef Bursik has been called up to the England U19 squad for a trio of UEFA European U19 Championship Elite Round matches later this month.

The 18-year-old shot-stopper will link up with Keith Downing’s squad next week aiming to seal a place in this summer’s finals which will be held in Armenia.

The Young Lions play three games against Czech Republic, Greece and Denmark, with only the nation who finishes top of the four nation group progressing to July’s finals.

England kick-off against the Czechs first on Wednesday 20 March, before they tackle Greece in the second game on Saturday 23 March.

The final game with Denmark takes place on Tuesday 26 March, with all three games being staged at St. George’s Park*.
