Chance To Play Your Part In Player Development

Academy

AN EXCITING opportunity has arisen for local people to be involved in the development and support of Stoke City’s up-and-coming players.

The Club are currently looking for hosts to accommodate young players aged between 13-23 years of age for both long and short-term placements.

Anyone interested needs to live within a five mile radius of the Clayton Wood Training Ground (ST4 6NB) as all transport for players will be provided by the Academy.

Hosts are encouraged to include young players in family life and young players are expected to respect their host family’s way of life. Both hosts and young players are given guidelines explaining what is expected of them.

All our host families are regularly visited and supported by the Academy safeguarding team, whilst the Club will provide you with a monthly payment per player as well as the necessary training to ensure you understand the needs of an elite athlete.

The Club is committed to equal opportunities as well as safeguarding, promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Any applicant wishing to be considered as a host family will need to demonstrate they are able to share this commitment.

If you are interested in finding out more information or applying to be considered as a host family then please contact Steph Wakelin, Academy Safeguarding & Welfare Officer on [email protected]

Applicants will be required to provide satisfactory references and undergo an enhanced DBS check.
