Club To Remember Departed Friends

Sir Stanley Matthews Statue

STOKE CITY are once again planning to pay tribute to supporters and former players who have passed away during 2017.

The Club will celebrate the lives of those who are sadly no longer with us in a special event prior to the Premier League fixture with Newcastle United at the bet365 Stadium on New Year’s Day.

The Potters will pay tribute to three of their former players - Dionatan Teixeira, Derek Hodgson and John Worsdale – who sadly passed away this year.

And fans are being asked to pay respects to their City-supporting loved ones and friends by submitting their names and photographs to the Club for use around the fixture.

Those who are remembered will appear on the big screens at the bet365 Stadium from 2pm onwards prior to kick off, as well as featuring in the corresponding issue of the #pottersmag Matchday Magazine.

Any supporter wishing to include someone in this remembrance event should send a photograph along with name and years of life (i.e. 1950-2017) to [email protected]

The deadline for inclusion in #pottersmag is 5pm on Monday, 18th December whilst all entries for the big screen must be received by 5pm on Friday, 29th December.
