Family Sleep Out 2019

Sam Clucas & Thibaud Verlinden

FOLLOWING the success of the Big Sleep Out event held at the bet365 Stadium every winter, the Community Trust are to host a summer version later this year aimed at families.

On Friday 12th July, families are encouraged to bed down for the night inside the concourse of the Franklyn Stand to raise funds and awareness of homelessness within the city.

The event, sponsored by the RAF and Tollgate Hotel & Leisure, will start at 6pm and run through to 7am, giving those who take part a sample of what it’s like to brave the elements as a homeless person.

Participants will be provided with a cardboard mat to sleep on, hot soup, beverages, and refreshments throughout the night and a hot breakfast bap in the morning.

Anybody over the age of seven can participate, however please note those under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent.

Families who wish to take part are encouraged to raise £100, with money raised donated to a homeless charity in the city.

You can sign up and set up a Virgin Money Page for the event HERE
