Trio ready for national service…
STOKE CITY trio Peter Etebo, Jack Butland and Harry Souttar are on international duty today.
Etebo (pictured) is likely to start for Nigeria in their African Cup of Nations qualifier against the Seychelles at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba – although the game is a dead rubber with Nigeria having already qualified.
Butland will be among the substitutes for England for their opening EURO 2020 qualifier against Czech Republic at Wembley, on a night when the Three Lions and the FA pay tribute to World Cup winner Gordon Banks, who passed away last month aged 81.
England boss Gareth Southgate has already confirmed that Everton’s Jordan Pickford will start in goal ahead of Butland and Burnley’s Tom Heaton.
Souttar, who is currently making a big impression whilst out on loan at Fleetwood, could make his debut for Australia in their Asian Football Confederation U23 qualifier against Cambodia in the Phnom Penh Olympic Stadium.
Souttar has been capped by Scotland at Under-19 level but qualifies to represent the Socceroos through his Australian-born mother.
