Jack Answers Southgate's Call

Jack Butland

JACK BUTLAND has retained his place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the forthcoming games against the USA and Croatia.

The Potters No.1 will be hoping to get the opportunity to take his tally of senior caps into double figures in either the friendly against the USA next Thursday or the UEFA Nations League meeting with Croatia the following Sunday. Both games are at Wembley.

Butland has been in fine form for City and has kept four clean sheets in his last six Championship outings.

One of those came at Bristol City where he produced a string of outstanding saves while being watched by the England goalkeeping coach Martyn Margetson.

The game against the USA will see Wayne Rooney make his 120th and final England appearance as the FA honours his record-breaking international career.
