City boss eager for victory to end a disappointing 2017/18 campaign...
PAUL LAMBERT says his players owe supporters a triumphant send off at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Last weekend’s 2-1 reverse at home to Crystal Palace consigned the Potters to Championship football next term, ending the Club’s 10-year spell in the top-flight.
Speaking ahead of this weekend’s 2017/18 curtain-closer in South Wales, the Scotsman spoke of the importance of signing off a hugely disappointing campaign in victorious fashion.
“We have everything to play for on Sunday, everything,” he told the media at his weekly pre-match press conference.
“We will have thousands of fans there who have paid their hard earned money to support us and we have to be ready for it - we certainly don’t want to finish last."
“We have to win the game, we need to go out there, be aggressive and earn the right to take the three points.
“I will go as strong as I possibly can to get the points - we owe it to the fans, and everyone else at the Club to win the game.”
He added: “Once the season finishes then the real hard work begins. I am pretty sure that the Chairman and John will do everything they can to get this Club in a strong place before the new season.”
