Mings Offers Potters Thoughts

Tyrone Mings

ASTON VILLA defender Tyrone Mings says he is approaching this weekend’s encounter at the bet365 Stadium in the mind-set that it is the biggest of his career.

The Potters play host to the Villans on Saturday afternoon desperate to follow up successive away draws at Wigan Athletic and Ipswich Town with a home triumph over Dean Smith’s men.

The visitors however, know they simply have to register maximum spoils if they are to realistically keep their top six hopes alive, having slipped to defeats in each of their last two league outings.

Speaking to the club’s official website, the on loan AFC Bournemouth ace said: “I always convince myself that every game I go into is the biggest of my career.

“It's the only one you can influence. It's the same this weekend.

“We know how Stoke like to play. We know what we have to do to stop them and how we implement ourselves on them.

“We've prepared professionally for what will be a tough game. Hopefully we can get that win."

“I don't think any game I've been involved in for Aston Villa that we've looked seriously out-thought.

“Even at Brentford, there were times I thought they weren't going to score. We've been in every game.”

He added: “We're not far away. We just need a little bit more ruthlessness and aggression.”
