The French midfielder deservedly claimed the most coveted award on offer shortly after picking up another prestigious accolade, the Players Player of the Season Award.
It capped off a memorable evening for the 26-year-old who was rewarded for his superb contribution to the Potters' historic Barclays Premier league campaign, which has already seen the side surpass last season's record tally of 50 points.
Seven other members of Mark Hughes' first-team squad were also recognised at the prestigious showpiece ceremony which was held inside the Tony Waddington Suite at the Britannia Stadium.
Marc Muniesa, Mame Diouf, Jonathan Walters, Charlie Adam, Oliver Shenton, Thomas Sorensen and Andy Wilkinson were all recipients of the evening's other awards.
Following the introduction of the first team management and players, a sumptuous four-course meal was served before the presentation awards began with Spanish youngster Muniesa being commended for his work in the community.
It was then the turn of Walters to step up onto the stage for the first of his two prizes, as he claimed the Stoke City Supporters Branches Player of the Season.
No sooner had the Republic of Ireland international returned to his seat, he was back up again, along with Senegalese international, Mame Diouf, who jointly-claimed the Top Goalscorer award, having each netted ten goals throughout the campaign.
Unlike 2013/14, the Goal of the Season award was a relatively straightforward decision, with recently recalled Scotland international Charlie Adam overwhelmingly claiming the trophy for his stunning strike from inside his own half against Chelsea in April.
17-year-old Oliver Shenton was then crowned Young Player of the Year having forced his way into Mark Hughes first-team plans this season, despite beginning the campaign with John Perkins' Under 18 side.
The accolade rounded off what has been an incredible twelve months for the teenager, who became the Club's youngest ever Barclays Premier league player when he took to the field against reigning champions Manchester City in February.
The undoubted star of the show, Nzonzi received arguably the most sought after award in the dressing room, the Players Player of the Season.
A special accolade, Special Recognition Award, was then presented to long-term squad members Andy Wilkinson and Thomas Sorensen; both of whom depart the Britannia Stadium following this Sunday's 2014/15 finale against Liverpool.
Neil 'Nello' Baldwin also took to the stage during the ceremony having been named as the Fan of the Season, before the spotlight once more fell on Nzonzi, who claimed the Supporters Player of the Season Award and thus bring the curtain down on another memorable evening for the Club.
Manager Mark Hughes said: "Steven has certainly been one of those players that I was probably guilty of having a certain perception of when I first took over here, but having worked with him now, I have to admit that I have been taken aback.
"I never really realised how talented he was. He has played a massive role in our success last season, and this season too, and is a thoroughly deserving winner of this hugely sought-after award."
