City boss offers pair and other fringe players an opportunity to revive their City careers...
NATHAN JONES says every member of his first-team squad will be given an opportunity to thrive under his guidance.
The newly-appointed Potters boss refused to rule anyone out of his plans whilst speaking at his official press unveiling on Thursday afternoon.
That news offered a number of fringe players an olive branch as they look to get their playing careers in North Staffordshire back on track.
Speaking at the bet365 Stadium, he explained: “If they buy into what we do, they have futures here.
“I’ve seen them and both will fit into how we play, so it will be entirely down to them and how they adapt and what they want to do.
“In terms of how we want to play, Moritz (Bauer) fits that style, and so does Bojan."
“We are very excited to have those type of players there, it’s good competition throughout the squad, which is key if we are to drive the Club forward.
“But it’s not about one individual - there will be times when both will play and there will be times when others will play.
“There will be times they will need a rest, or are out of form, so we have to have a competitive environment.”
He added: “It won’t be about any one individual. We just want to give them a structure they will buy into and give the fans a team they are proud of.”
