Potters Submit Retained List

Matchday information

FIRST-TEAM professionals Stephen Ireland and Glen Johnson head the list of summer departures after the Club submitted its retained list following the conclusion of the 2017/18 Premier League campaign.

The vastly-experienced pair, who made 134 appearances for the Potters between them, have been handed free transfers, and will officially bring an end to their stays at the bet365 Stadium when their existing deals expire on 30th June.

Ireland joined the Club from Aston Villa in the summer of 2013 and scored six goals in 70 outings, whilst former England international Johnson clocked up 60 appearances during his three seasons as a Stoke City player.

They will be joined through the exit door by five members of Wade Elliott’s Under-23 squad, Shola Ayoola, Lewis Banks, Ryan Hill, Eddy Lecygne and Luis Da Silva.

Three members of the Under-23 set-up have however triggered new one-year deals, whilst a professional contract has been offered to Jacob Twyford from the Under-18 squad.

The Club would like to thank those departing for their efforts and wish them all the best for the future.
